Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Everything you need to know before registering for a PDC workshop.

Who are these workshops for?

PDC workshops are designed for pre-professional and professional dancers looking to refine their craft. We recommend that dancers have approximately 5–7 years of intermediate-to-advanced training and are age 17+ for The Performance Collective and age 16+ for all other workshops.

Younger dancers with a strong foundation in ballet, tap, and jazz may be considered for select workshops on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need a specific dance background?

A strong foundation in ballet, tap, or jazz is recommended. Our workshops are rooted in precision technique, so prior technical training will help you get the most out of the experience.

Are these workshops only for dancers pursuing the Rockette path?

Not at all. The technical foundation we teach — precision, clarity, performance presence — translates directly to theater, film, and commercial work. Our training builds skills that transfer across the industry.

What's the difference between PDC Essentials and The Industry Experience?

PDC Essentials is a focused, multi-day workshop centered on technique, choreography, individualized feedback, and a mini mock audition experience.

The Industry Experience is a four-day immersive program that includes all elements of PDC Essentials, along with a mock audition led by a working casting director, classes with industry guest faculty, vocal and strength training, and a professionally filmed concept video shoot. Dancers will also leave with professional footage, sponsored products, and select dancewear provided by our brand partners.

Will I get individual feedback?

Yes. Every PDC workshop includes individualized 1:1 feedback for each dancer. Group sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure each dancer receives focused attention from Katie, Sarah, and/or our guest faculty.

Who is teaching?

All PDC workshops are led directly by Katie and Sarah, both former Radio City Rockettes. The Industry Experience and select other programs also feature working industry guest faculty — casting directors, agents, and choreographers.

What should I wear and bring?

Form-fitting dance wear, tap shoes (heels preferred but not required), character heels (for jazz/precision), and ballet shoes. Bring water, a notebook for taking notes, and snacks for breaks. Specific recommendations are shared with registered participants closer to each workshop.

Is virtual registration available?

Yes — PDC Essentials, The Kick Collective, and The Industry Experience all offer both in-person and virtual registration options. Virtual participants receive instruction, choreography, and individualized feedback. The Performance Collective and Audition Essentials are in-person only due to their immersive, hands-on nature.

Are payment plans available?

A payment plan is available for The Performance Collective only. Payment for all other workshops is due at the time of registration.

What's your cancellation and refund policy?

PDC Essentials, Audition Essentials, and The Kick Collective are fully refundable up to one week prior to the workshop start date. The Industry Experience is fully refundable up to two weeks prior to the workshop start date.

The Performance Collective requires a 50% non-refundable deposit upon registration. The remaining balance becomes non-refundable beginning February 1 of each year.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes. To date, PDC has awarded nearly $45,000 in scholarships since 2022. Dancers are eligible to receive scholarships toward PDC Essentials, The Industry Experience, and/or The Performance Collective each year.

How do I redeem a scholarship received through a competition or convention?

To redeem your scholarship, please email [email protected] with your name (or the dancer's name if you're registering on their behalf), the city where the scholarship was awarded, and a photo or scanned copy of the scholarship certificate.
